South Coast - Mollymook

A wonderful seaside escape, Mollymook is enticing with a beautiful beach, ideal waves for bodysurfers and boardriders, pretty picnic spots and delicious seafood. Spot dolphins playing in the sparkling waters and from headlands watch majestic whales migrating along the NSW South Coast.

Mollymook Beach is a major attraction, sweeping 2km. At the southern end is the Mollymook Surf Life Saving Club, which patrols the beach during the warmer months. Relax on the fine white sands and soak up the views and the sun, and enjoy swimming. The grassy knoll behind the beach is perfect for picnics.

A large natural rock pool is at the southern end near the Mollymook headland. The tidal pool is called Bogey Hole and great for swimming and snorkelling. Other things to do include learning surfing or honing your boardriding at the Mollymook Beach Surf School and the Pam Burridge Surf Schools.

For golfers, Mollymook Golf Club is an idyllic setting with scenic ocean views. At the northern end of the beach is Bannisters Point, where Rick Stein at Bannisters serves local oysters and freshly caught seafood. The award-winning restaurant is in The Sydney Morning Herald’s Good Food Guide.

In the Shoalhaven region, Mollymook is 3h 30 min drive from Sydney and 2h 45 min from Canberra. Nearby towns are Ulladulla to the south, Milton to the northwest, and Narrawallee to the north, where you’ll find another gorgeous beach for surfing and swimming and superb fishing at the inlet.
